My grandma (Grace) used to read a beautiful poem from the great Persian poet Saadi that its literal translation is “Human beings are members of a whole, since in their creation they are of one essence. When the conditions of the time bring a member (limb) to pain, the other members (limbs) will suffer from discomfort. You, who are indifferent to the misery of others, it is not fitting that they should call you a human being.“

After I moved to the United States and learned about Thanksgivings, I decided to prepare several baskets of food for those in needs in my community with the help of friends and family. This project started in 2001 and since then each year we have been able to have more support and prepare more Thanksgiving Dinner Baskets!

Finally, this year, I have decided to expand the Thanksgiving Dinner Baskets project and allow to have more support, donations and sponsors from those who are interested in participating in this amazing program.
